Hand Engravers since 1894

DAVID BEDFORD [email protected]

I first discovered engraving during my industrial design course at Canterbury Art College, in the early 1960's. I quickly became quite adept at engraving, and was able to complete my final year solely on this skill. By summer 1965 I was taken on as a trainee engraver at J.J.Bergin Ltd. who had a business in London's west end, where I progressed rapidly, and after five years of expert tuition, I became fully proficient in all heraldic and general hand engraving on silver and gold. In 1977 I and a fellow partner took over the business, and continued together for the next 26 years, until he retired in 2005. Over the years I have been fortunate to have worked on many elaborate pieces for The Queen, members of The Royal Family, Pop stars, and also many celebrities. Now after over 45 years based in London, I have now re located to the country and now continue to run J.J.Bergin Ltd.
